It’s Back-to-School season and the perfect time to refresh your space and add some decorative flair...
Sustainable Décor Trends for Winter
Nature indoors- this seems to be the theme of this winter’s interior design trend. With so many still working from home, the need to change our environment to a cozier and more calming space is top of mind, along with the increasing interest in sustainable purchases.
According to House Beautiful, “Something about winter just begs for more nature-inspired décor. (It probably has something to do with the fact that we can't spend as much time outside.)” Some décor elements are simple and cost-effective, maybe even from your own backyard! They recommend bringing in plants for color and texture, adding wood and earthy décor elements, and wall art that adds a wintery mood.
You can also transform any space by using a natural rug that can tie your room together. Bob Vila says, “Look for eco-friendly materials such as those made of wool, sisal, jute, or hemp. These natural materials are durable and resist shedding, plus they are non-allergenic and nontoxic, meaning they’re not only great for the environment but good for your health as well.”
No matter your design aesthetic, one element that can be easily integrated into your cozy space is displaying those things that bring you joy- décor elements that transcend seasonal trends, like family portraits or keepsakes from a memorable journey or point in time.
