World Animal Day may have already passed, but we can help our animal friends all month long! Whether you want to volunteer yourself or organize something with your friends, family, or even your business, here are six ideas to help you get started.

Do a Photo Challenge

Something you can do with your company is a photo challenge, have everyone take photos of their pets and put them together on a board in a common area of your office. You can even turn it into a game to help fundraise for your favorite animal activist groups. Charge a small entry fee, put up pictures of your coworkers and their pets, and have everyone try and match the pet to the correct owner, don't forget to hand out prizes!

Help Out at your Local Animal Shelter

Local shelters often need volunteers or donations. Reach out to your local animal shelter to see how you can help by volunteering for a few hours. Or find out their biggest needs and set up a donations drive.

Sponsor an Animal

Many animal charities offer sponsorship plans for wild animals or animals who can't be rehomed. These charities will send you photos and newsletters about your sponsored animal.

Host a Learning Session

Reach out to a local sanctuary or rescue to present at your office or school, or you can make a field trip out of it and visit them yourself! Learn all about your local wildlife and what you can do to help.

Start a Trash Pick Up Day

We share our space with animals all around us. A great way to help is to spend a day cleaning trash and litter around your neighborhood. Or, you can volunteer for a roadside cleanup day.
